Depends on the favor. I would have tied several dozen flies for this one favor, but she did one helluva favor. :7

If you were going to tie some flies for someone who did you a favor, how many flies would you tie for them?

The trouble I have with fishing a 6wt for bass is it just can't turn over the bigger flies.  I fish a 7wt most of the time for bass, but if I'm fishing large wind grabbing flies I will jump up to an 8wt.

Take plenty of warm clothes.  Frost is likely in late September.

A 6Wt  should be find, it can handle bass but they will give you a fight on that rod.  I would take along a head kit so you can add it to your floating line if you need it.  Just take off your leader and add the head kit to the end of your fly line

Cortland makes a one, https://www.fishusa.com/product/Cortland-Mini-Head-Kits
Also, https://www.rioproducts.com/products/sinking/intouch-versitip-ii

Have a great trip and let us know how you do.

Hello
I'm am heading to the Boundary Waters in Late September. This is my first trip to BWCA so I am looking for whatever advice I can get. I have been doing a little checking for what is foragible at that time of year and definitely would like to bring a fly rod with me. I have a 4 pc Sage 6 wt. My reel is loaded with floating line and I wanted to find out if the fish will be going deeper at that time of year. Should I be changing it to a sinking line? Would a 6 wt be heavy enough? I have heavier rods but they are only 2 pc and would be more difficult to hike and portage with. Flies, I would think streamers, but what kind and size? I'm not sure of entry point or route yet. I would imagine that bears will be active and eating whatever they can find. I'm hoping to stay out of their way.
Thank you
Linda
